Soften my heart

A Stirred Heart

In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

"Thus says Cyrus king Persia: The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah (Ezra 1:1-2).

Have you ever felt it? A quickening where your heart beats a little faster and adrenaline flows out of no where? These seemingly random events are rarely random for me. I don't have to look very long before I become aware of what I am supposed to do for or say to someone. Please don't get me wrong. I don't call myself a prophet nor do I call myself special. I just call myself open - open to hear His voice. It's interesting, those moments in retrospect, are some of the most joyful and rewarding moments of my life. Anyone else know what I mean?

Father God thank you. Thank you for using me in big things and even the little things. I pray that you would continue to be a lamp to my feet and continue to use me for your kingdom purposes. Soften my heart and prepare my mind through your Word. You are the Potter and I am the pot. Mold me. Shape me. May You be glorified in and through my life. In Jesus matchless name I ask these things, amen.

If you find this to be a blessing, please share!
